The next league challenge will be……

To make it fair, I’m using a wheel to pick the manager who will get first pick in the next wheel, which will contain two clubs they will be managing.
Wheel 1

Outcome

I’ve obviously going with Benfica and Sporting.
Wheel 2

Clubs have been decided.

We jump to December.

League table

Sporting is struggling a bit. Benfica with a game in hand is still in the mix.
Wenger – Benfica

Nothing added from the start.
However, in the next transfer window, wenger is spending.

He’s seen enough of this Belgian on loan in Germany from Rennes to make him his number one target.

Champions league wise, he topped the group.

Into the second group stage and struggling from the word go.

Domestic cup still all to play for.

Team stats

There’s goals being chipped in from every position.
Vangelis Pavlidis could do with upping his game.
I’m sure come the end of the season, he will hit 15 plus.

Alex Ferguson – Sporting

There is no movement in, but a major player goes out the door.

The price is nice. But what a player to lose.

He started well for Ferguson as well.
This has the potential to damper his season.

There is an outbound happening in this window.

Ferguson has picked up a domestic trophy at the beginning of the season.
Winning the Portuguese Super Cup.

Champions league stage ended at phase 1.

In another domestic cup, sporting has advanced to the next stage.
After nearly throwing away a 2 goal lead.

Team stats

Pedro Gonçalves looks decent.
Gabriel Silva is taking his chances with there being a vacant position for him to be tested.
Conrad Harder is making a claim too, should Silva slip up, I’m sure the young Danish forward will get the nod.
At the back. Gonçalo Inácio is the standout defender and mix bag of positives from one or two midfielders in defensive duties as well as goals to assist.

Advancing ingame till something catches my eye.

Alex Ferguson – stats (I guess)

With one manager down, nothing in the rule book about not playing till the end.

Slipped away towards the end.
Sat on top for a while, till Porto ran away with it.
Surprisingly, Sporting CP after Alex Ferguson massively improved.
Team stats

Nice goal to game ratio from Vangelis Pavlidis.
Ángel Di María the disappointment with a season end squad feeling vibes.
The French man major signing looked like money well spent.

Domestic cupwise ended early on.

Unlucky in Europe, but made for an entertaining group stage.

Wenger stats

I think the selling of Viktor Gyökeres was a mistake, and losing that potential firepower early on was Ferguson downfall.
Wenger just had a Wenger style season. Competitive whilst underachieving.
Is anyone going to win a slice of 🍕??
