Ruud on the run part 3

RVN and I have arrived in Manchester.

It’s a dream for the dutchman to be at such a well supported club.

With an opportunity to showcase his talent with the promise of European football, must have been the deal breaker.

Still young and hungry.

Strange first team selection.

Everyone is in the reserves for some reason and extremely annoyed with eric Cantona.

I don’t even think the French man even knows or would even care for that matter.

I need to build a team around RVN.

Starting at the back and to my surprise, the new arrival has been greeted with excitement by the person he will be challenging all season for a spot in the team.

I don’t stop there.

I had no transfer rules when I started, so i can buy anyone.

But I thought let’s have a go at buying future manchester United players.

But first, it’s a chance for RVN to show what he’s about as manchester United takes on Liverpool in the charity shield.

Nothing from him, and annoyingly, I have to try and ship out Eric Cantona.

For club harmony and given his talent as footballer.

He should go for a few quid, which will help buy new players.

And talking of new players….

Still ongoing with one or two……

Slow start to the new season. RVN first goal at home is against Wimbledon.

Thanks to the away team going a player down. United capitalised on the advantage.

I’ve finished my spending for now.

Adding 3 additional faces. One was not so new as Nicky Butt left the club, but luckily, he had a release clause in his contract.

It takes a while until RVN finally pops his European cherry with a goal now into the second faze of the competition.

To be honest, RVN has been living in Scholes shadows for a while now.

Scholes has been the real story since I moved him out of the reserves.

He’s starting to pick up a bit.

But still left for dust by the Ginger Ninja.

One more win would secure the knockout half of the Champions League competition.

If RVN wants to keep on playing in the tournament, he needs to dig deep.

And he does just that.

I need Roy Keane to stop headbutting players in training.

No thanks to a reckless challenge, RVN is now sidelined.

He will, however, make it back for this game by a day.

He goes straight into the game

He didn’t have the dream return with a goal, as I’m sure most strikers would’ve wanted.

But still, I’m happy with his involvement in the game

There’s no FA Cup dream as I got knocked out.

There’s no League cup as I got knocked out.

It’s just the league and champions league to fight for a chance of silverware.

He does get recognised by his peers.

He faces his former club.

They aren’t doing that great.

Clearly missing the dutchman.

It’s scary to think I’m playing RVN as alone gun and Scholes as an MC with a forward arrow.

Both have a connection on the pitch.

Manchester united make it to the semi finals of the champions league against juventus.

The first leg was at Old Trafford, which ended on the night with a win for the Italians to brag about.

It’s now or never in the returning leg.

It had to be RVN to bring the game into extra time.

With minutes away from getting knocked out.

But it wasn’t to be.

Still, RVN ends the European campaign with an excellent effort.

Manchester United are champions of the Premiership.

And Ruud had a descent first season.

Sign of things to come.
